The brief was twofold: create a highly functional workplace for our team, and a live showroom for clients. A modern, chic design incorporates both Scandi and sophisticated elements, using light, colour, and materials to create an inspired space. The colour scheme is bright and inviting, tying the design together to offer guests and staff a warm welcome.

A bespoke design lab sits at the heart of the space, allowing our clients to engage directly with office design elements: materials, finishes, and furniture samples in a setting designed for comparison and interactivity. Careful attention was given to lighting quality and neutral backdrops, ensuring samples and proposed designs take centre stage.

The workplace showcases multiple ways of working, from height-adjustable desks and collaborative zones to quieter spaces for focus and privacy, including informal meeting rooms and phone booths. Feature lighting, writable walls, and flexible furniture allow the space to adapt throughout the day in response to what staff need.

Biophilic design was integrated throughout the 9,000 sq ft office, with planting and living elements used to soften the environment and create a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The result is a workspace that demonstrates MDC’s design philosophy in practice: functional, flexible, and tech-enabled, but always built around people first and foremost.
